About Shana

I was made to learn, teach, and serve.

I'm a veteran, a mom, a semi-homesteader, and an entrepreneur. I spent the first decades of my professional life as a combat pilot and contractor supporting various federal agencies — in just about every type of managerial role.

I've supported manufacturing from experimentation to production, enterprise architecture and knowledge management at the federal level, rescue missions, and crisis response. In each new organization I followed the same steps:

• Dig deep to learn the people and the operation
• Listen for and observe pain points
• Simplify process and complexity

The root cause was almost always the same. Process had become cumbersome, adding complexity, confusion, and work. Software was oversold and underutilized. People were drowning in administrative tasks.

I began to wonder how small businesses had a chance when institutions with massive resources were getting it wrong. It has been in my heart for a long time to develop simple systems to support small businesses.

But, like many founders, I had to pay the bills. I wasn't willing to sacrifice my family and community obligations in order to start something new that wouldn't bear fruit for years. Then I realized — the key was hiding in plain sight.

One of the themes in a lot of the IT work I do is continuous improvement. So I started finding ways to make incremental change. I made space, bought back my time, and built the foundation so I could work on a business to help other owners succeed.

I'm just getting started, and I can't wait to share what's next with you.
